- 3 Particles as Bound States in Their Own Potentials †
I consider the problem of computing the mass of a charged, gravitating particle in quantum field theory. It is shown how solving for the first quantized propagator of a particle in the presence of its own potentials reproduces the gauge and general coordinate invariant sum over an infinite class of diagrams. The distinguishing feature of this class of diagrams is that all closed loops contain p...
متن کاملScattering and bound states in two-dimensional anisotropic potentials
We propose a framework for calculating scattering and bound-state properties in anisotropic two-dimensional potentials. Using our method, we derive systematic approximations of partial wave phase shifts and binding energies. Moreover, the method is suitable for efficient numerical computations. We calculate the s-wave phase shift and binding energy of polar molecules in two layers polarized by ...
متن کاملSe p 20 00 Bound - states for truncated Coulomb potentials
The pseudoperturbative shifted l expansion technique PSLET [16-19] is generalized for states with arbitrary number of nodal zeros. Boundstates energy eigenvalues for two truncated coulombic potentials are calculated using PSLET. In contrast with shifted large-N expansion technique, PSLET results compare excellently with those from direct numerical integration.
متن کاملbound state energy of delta-function potential: a new regularization scheme
in this letter we have proposed a new regularization scheme to deal with the divergent integralsoccurring in the quantum mechanical problem of calculating the bound state energy of the delta-functionpotential in two and three dimensions. based on the schwinger parameterization technique we argue thatthere are no infinities even in d dimensions. in this way we were able to compare our proposal w...
